To be eligible for a Lakeside Band Scholarship and/or extended bill payments, you and/or your family must:
- Exhibit a general financial need. Examples of such need may include receiving assistance from the Dekalb County school system (for example, reduced lunch) or experiencing an unforeseen hardship (e.g., death of a parent, a parent losing employment, etc.)
- Be a committed member of the Band and be in good standing at Lakeside High School in both academics and in student conduct.
- Volunteer time for Lakeside band events.
- Have demonstrated reasonable participation in fund-raising opportunities.
Application Procedure for a Lakeside Band Scholarship
- Complete this application form completely and accurately. Form must be completed and submitted prior to consideration. A separate application is required for each child for whom you are applying for financial aid.
- The Scholarship Committee will review your application and may request additional supporting information from you if needed.
- Financial assistance awards will be approved or denied based on eligibility, timeliness of request, and funds available. You will be notified of the scholarship award and the amount. The money will be directly deposited into your student Membership Toolkit band account to be used for direct band expenses. Funds may not be used for optional trip expenses.
Confidentiality: All application information will be shared only with the Scholarship Committee and will be kept confidential.
